Canadian Life
Toronto's Binding-Quote Moving Company · Est. 2013
You'll know the exact cost before we load a single box. Your belongings arrive in the same condition they left. And if you're new to Canada, we'll make sure you're not sleeping on the floor — 2,800+ moves completed last year across Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. A family-operated moving company built on one rule: the number on the quote is the number on the invoice.

The Family Moving Across Provinces
You've accepted the job offer, signed the lease, and now you're staring at a house full of belongings that need to travel 800 km. You need a delivery date you can actually count on — not a 14-day window. Our long distance moving Canada routes cover Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI with a confirmed 2-day delivery window and $2M cargo liability coverage on every shipment. We've handled everything from 1-bedroom apartments in Ottawa to 5-bedroom homes in Fredericton — the Whitfield estate move saved the family $3,100 through our pre-move downsizing consultation alone.
The Newcomer Arriving in Canada
Your container is in customs, your temporary apartment has no furniture, and nobody explained that your building requires a Certificate of Insurance from the movers. First — breathe. We've handled this 400+ times since 2018 through a newcomer relocation assistance program designed by Amara Okonkwo, who went through the same disorientation when she arrived from Lagos in 2012. Landing Kits delivered within 24 hours. Customs coordination for delayed containers at the Port of Montreal, Halifax, or Vancouver. Neighborhood orientation guides in your language. And 90-day phone support so you're not figuring out tenant insurance and school registration alone.
The Startup Relocating a Team
You just closed your Series B and need 6 engineers in Toronto by next month. The enterprise relocation firms want a 50-move minimum. You have 6. That's enough for us. Our corporate relocation program was purpose-built for companies moving 1–25 employees — one project manager, consolidated invoicing, coordinated scheduling, and temporary storage for people between leases. Jordan Flett manages every corporate account personally, and the average per-employee cost on group moves comes in at $2,743 — consistently 30–34% less than what enterprise relocation management companies quote for the same scope.

Utility setup guidance. 90-day phone support in 8 languages: English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog, Igbo, Mandarin, and Hindi.

Double-walled corrugated boxes, 3-mil stretch wrap, acid-free tissue for delicates, cell kits for glassware, and custom crating for artwork and mirrors. Storage vaults maintained at 10°C–22°C year-round with active humidity control — because non-climate-controlled units in Toronto swing from -15°C in January to 40°C in July, which cracks wood, splits leather, and warps vinyl records. Every item barcoded and photographed on intake. 48-hour retrieval on request. Month-to-month contracts, no long-term commitment.

Warehouse receiving with damage inspection and photo documentation on intake — so any manufacturer defects are caught and documented before you take delivery, protecting your warranty claim. Inventory verification against purchase orders. Sorted delivery to multiple locations on the same day. Full assembly including wall-mounting for shelving, TV brackets, and banquettes. We've furnished 5 café locations for NovaBrew Coffee Co., delivering 156 pieces to 3 sites in a single day.

One Move, Start to Finish
Athena Robotics — 14 Engineers, Waterloo to Toronto, 6 Weeks
A
Athena Robotics closed a $22M Series B and needed 14 employees in Toronto within six weeks. They had no HR relocation infrastructure — the CEO was handling it between fundraiser calls. Enterprise relocation management companies wanted a 50-move annual minimum; Athena had 14. We assigned one coordinator (Jordan Flett), ran video surveys for all 14 homes — completed in 5 business days — and delivered binding quotes within 48 hours each. Moves were staggered across three weeks to avoid bottlenecks on the Waterloo–Toronto corridor and maximize truck efficiency. Three employees who hadn't found housing yet got temporary storage at no holding fee, averaging 23 days in our climate-controlled facility. Office furniture delivery for Athena's new Toronto facility was bundled on return trips, saving an additional logistics coordination fee. Result: 14 employees moved, zero workdays lost, $2,743 per employee — 34% less than the next lowest bid from an enterprise corporate relocation services provider.
I run a 28-person fintech company and we needed to move six engineers from Waterloo to Toronto on a compressed timeline. Jordan Flett handled everything. One phone call per week to me, a group chat for the engineers with live scheduling updates, and consolidated invoicing that my accountant actually praised — which has literally never happened before. The cost came in 30% under what the large relocation services quoted.David Osei COO, Paystack North · Corporate relocation, February 2024
Real Clients, Real Moves, Their Words
We moved from Calgary to Toronto with two kids under five and a dog. I was terrified. The Canadian Life crew showed up in Scarborough with floor runners already unrolled before they brought a single box inside. They knew which boxes were the kids' room — they'd labeled everything in Calgary with colored tape by room. My son's crib was assembled before I finished walking the dog around the block.Rachel Moreau Marketing Director, Pelican Health · Moved July 2023
I arrived from Manila in November 2022 with my wife and mother-in-law. We didn't have winter boots, our container was stuck in Vancouver, and our landlord wouldn't let us move in without proof of tenant insurance — which nobody told us about. Amara from Canadian Life walked us through getting tenant insurance online, delivered a Landing Kit the same day, and called us every week for three months to ask if we needed anything.Jerome Agustin Software Developer · Newcomer relocation, November 2022
My mother passed away and I needed to move the contents of her Fredericton home into storage in Toronto — about 1,400 km. I was grieving and couldn't deal with logistics. Mariana personally walked me through a video survey of the house, helped me decide what to keep, and had a crew in Fredericton within 10 days. Everything arrived in perfect condition. I was quoted $12,000 by another long distance moving Canada company. Canadian Life did it for $7,400.Catherine Fong Professor, University of Toronto · Estate move, April 2023

Three Steps. No Mysteries.
Book a Video Survey (15 Minutes)
Call (519) 988-6353 or fill out the quote form. We'll schedule a 15-minute video walkthrough of your home or office — just walk us through each room on your phone while we note dimensions, stairwells, elevator access, parking, and any specialty items. No in-person visit required unless you prefer one. We respond to every inquiry within 4 business hours and can often schedule the video survey for the same day.
Receive Your Binding Quote (Within 48 Hours)
We calculate weight, distance, and accessorials from the survey footage. The number we quote is the number you pay — that's what "binding" means. If we underestimated the weight or missed an accessorial, we eat the difference — not you. Your quote document itemizes every charge: base transport, stair fees (if applicable), long-carry fees, packing services, and storage. No vague "additional fees may apply" line items. Ever.
We Move. You Don't Worry.
Your crew arrives on time (98.3% of the time, to be specific), protects your floors with masonite boards and padded corner guards, loads the truck using a weight-distribution protocol that's been in this family since Eduardo Vasquez started moving furniture in Hamilton in 1987, and delivers to your new address within the confirmed 2-day window. You get real-time transit updates for long-distance moves, plus a direct phone number for your driver. After delivery, we do a walkthrough against the inventory manifest together before we leave.

A Family Business Since 1987
Canadian Life started in 2013 when Mariana Vasquez-Olsen took her father Eduardo's client book, his 26-foot truck, and three of his longtime crew members and built a moving company around one premise: serve the people most corporate movers ignore. But the roots go deeper — Eduardo arrived in Canada from Portugal in 1979 and spent 26 years helping newcomer families move apartments out of a garage in Hamilton, with no website, no logo, and no advertising. Just a van, a handshake, and a reputation for showing up.
Today, Canadian Life operates 14 trucks, employs 47 full-time people across four departments, and completes 2,800+ moves per year. The operation is bigger. The binding-quote promise — and the reason behind it — hasn't changed.

Every move starts with a 15-minute video survey and a binding quote. The price we quote is the price you pay — that's been the rule since Mariana Vasquez-Olsen signed the incorporation papers in 2013. Whether you're a family moving across provinces, a newcomer arriving in Canada, or a startup relocating a team, the process is the same: survey, quote, move. No surprises.
